A new piece by Gareth, Cytgerdd, receives its first performances on 6 April in the International Harp Festival in Caernarfon. It's the test piece for the most advanced harpists, and was composed to celebrate the 90th birthday of the harpist Osian Ellis.

Gareth composed a nonet, To the Four Winds, for Ensemble Cymru's 15th anniversary tour in May 2018, with performances in Cardiff, Aberystwyth, Pwllheli, Cilcain, Llandudno, Holyhead, Bangor and Caernarfon.

Gareth's opera, Wythnos yng Nghymru Fydd, won the award for Best Production in the Welsh Language in the Wales Theatre Awards 2018.

Gareth Glyn's new opera, Wythnos yng Nghymru Fydd (A Week in a Future Wales), has been nominated in four categories for the Wales Theatre Awards 2018: Best Sound (=music); Best Production in the Welsh Language; Best Male in an Opera Production (Robyn Lyn Evans); and Best Welsh Touring Production.

Gareth Glyn's new opera, Wythnos yng Nghymru Fydd (A week in a Future Wales) received its first ever performances on 10 and 11 November in the Pontio centre, Bangor before going on tour through Wales. More details here.

A capacity crowd of thousands filled Trafalgar Square in London for an open-air concert given by the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Valery Gergiev, including a performance of Gareth’s special arrangement of Berlioz’s ‘Symphonie Fantastique’ which incorporates young players into the ensemble. – more
